Tasting Notes

To the Eye – Warm Copper colour with glints of gold, giving it a uniquely luminous appearance.

On the Nose – Round and fresh bouquet, run through by intense fruity notes. In motion, aromas gains depth, with fleshier fruits such as apricot or vine peach chiming in.

In the Mouth – Intense aromas of luscious yellow fruit – Mirabelle plum, greenage, apricot and vine peach with subtle hints of wood and soft spices.

In red barrels-aged Martell VSOP The classic flavor of cognac has a lovely modern twist and is perfectly balanced. Because the alcohol is only matured in fine-grain Tronçais oak barrels, it takes on a fruity flavor. The best grapes for Martell Cognacs have come from the Borderies cru, the smallest in the region, since 1715.

The extraordinarily sparkling appearance of the cognac tempts you to indulge in its mouthwateringly spicy aromas, which have been infused from the red oak casks in which the cognac was aged. The trees are cultivated in close proximity to one another to slow their rate of growth, yielding fine grain; thus, the term "Tronçais" barrels. The modest tannins may give the eaux-de-vie flavor due to their proximity.

The barrel's "red" tint is a result of the seasoned oak's color, which has previously housed various eaux-de-vie. There will have been a minimum of two years and a maximum of eight years spent on this technique. As a result, the spirit can develop to its full potential. Due to its distinctive maturing and distillation processes, Martell creates outstanding eaux-de-vie.
