Description:

The Glenfarclas Whisky Distillery bottles the Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength at cask strength. For the production of its whiskies, the Glenfarclas Distillery just needs three ingredients: malted barley, fresh spring water, and yeast. It is one of the few distilleries that are still family-owned. Each Grant family, since John Grant acquired the company in 1865, has worked hard to maintain the stills and produce outstanding Speyside whiskies.

One of those superb alcoholic beverages is the Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength. A lot of sherry is prominent in the bouquet, along with sweet malt, oak wood, a hint of caramel, and fresh fruits like apples and young pears.

On the palate, sherry and European oak continue to have a significant presence, while aromas of dark chocolate, nuts, and subtle spice are slightly less noticeable. The dram has a certain strength but also appears silky and slick because of the high alcohol concentration. It is long and fairly moderate in its conclusion. It becomes a little bit drier and delivers hints of almonds, dark chocolate, and even a whiff of smoke.

European oak ex-sherry barrels, which are used to age the Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength, are used for this process. Due to their exquisite sherry seasoning, the whisky absorbed a lot of the rich sherry flavours and developed a lovely dark colour.

The number 105 also indicates that it is bottled at cask strength. The original cask strength of the Glenfarclas 105 Cask Strength is 63.5% by volume, and after 8–10 years, the "Angel's Share" reduces the alcohol concentration to 60% by volume.

This Whisky has numerous awards in its bag, including the Liquid Gold Award 2014 from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible and the "Scotch Single Malt" Silver Medal from International Wine & Spirits Competition in the years 2014 and 2017.
