Brand: Old Ballantruan | Category: Single Malt Scotch Whisky | ABV: 50% | Origin: Speyside, Scotland | Vol: 700ml

Tasting Profile
Nose: Campfire embers meet orchard fruits, a sweet-smoky mix of apple, vanilla cream, and damp oak.
Palate: Full bodied and oily, with layers of malted barley, charcoal, toasted nuts, and a subtle herbal edge.
Finish: Long and gently drying, with lingering smoke, peppery warmth, and a final whisper of earthy sweetness.

Production Details
Unusual for Speyside, this whisky is made using heavily peated malted barley and distilled slowly in traditional copper stills. Bottled at a bold 50% ABV, it's non chill filtered to retain its depth and natural oils. A whisky that shows Speyside doesn't have to be soft-spoken.

Perfect For
Ideal for nights when you want both elegance and edge. Sip it beside a fireplace or bring it to a tasting with Islay fans, it’ll surprise them in the best way.

Expert Notes
Critics and enthusiasts alike praise it for merging the sweetness of Speyside with the rugged charm of peat. It’s a gateway dram for Speyside lovers to explore smoke and for peat heads to appreciate subtlety.

Customer Reviews
"Didn’t expect this much depth from a Speyside peated, it’s balanced and bold."   Charlie
"That 50% ABV gives it a real kick. I love how it evolves with each sip."   Leanne
"Sweet, smoky, and satisfying. Like dessert and a bonfire in one glass."   Miguel

Interesting Fact
The name “Old Ballantruan” comes from the nearby Ballantruan spring, the same pure water source used by Tomintoul Distillery, known as the “gentle dram.” But there’s nothing gentle about this one.

Serving Suggestions
Best neat to fully explore its richness. Add a few drops of water if you want to unlock more vanilla and orchard fruit under the smoke. Try it with dark chocolate or smoked almonds.

Distillery Background
Crafted at the Tomintoul Distillery, perched high in the Cairngorms National Park, Old Ballantruan is the rebellious sibling of a typically smooth family. While Tomintoul is known for its gentle style, this expression proves they can do bold, smoky, and unforgettable when they choose.
