The Glen Grant, the Internationally acclaimed distillery from Rothes, announces the release of their newest expression, Arboralis. Joining the award-winning portfolio, Arboralis is the latest single malt Scotch to enter the exquisite range, representing the signature complex elegance for which The Glen Grant has celebrated for over 180 years.
The Arboralis liquid is a testament to the distillery’s proficiency at creating interesting, refined, and affordable drams. The bright gold nectar boasts a complex array of dried fruit flavors, especially apricot, with a pleasant amount of buttery oak and spice, brought to life with just a few drops of water. While the Arboralis is a no-age-statement whisky, Glen Grant Master Distiller Dennis Malcolm confirmed the liquid within is roughly a decade old.
On the nose: Very light and lots of fruity notes. Initially, there are bold aromas of raisins, dried figs, and prunes, and it quickly dries down to give way to light aromas of melons, starfruit, and kiwi. The heat suddenly ramps up after that are more light and fruity aromas such as banana candy, oleo Saccharum, strawberry candy, toffee, and tea.
In the mouth: A bit of heat on the first sip. Like the nose, this is bursting with fruits. The heat comes out again but persists all to the end this time. It has light notes of kiwi, orange candy, starfruit, oleo Saccharum, and melon; after that are even lighter and shorter notes of tea, toffee, and chocolate strawberries.
