Ballymorgan 1.2 isn’t just an Irish single malt, it’s an argument. An argument for terroir, transparency, and taste over tradition. Made from 100% Irish barley grown on one single farm in Wexford, this edition is a snapshot of place and time. Each sip is like reading the soil’s diary, with no secrets, no shortcuts, just pure, expressive malt.

Waterford Ballymorgan Single Farm Origin – Edition 1.2 70cl
Brand: Waterford | Category: Single Malt Irish Whiskey
ABV: 50% | Origin: Wexford, Ireland | Vol: 700ml

Tasting Profile
Nose: Freshly cut hay, orange peel, and a zesty ginger note, like walking through a citrus orchard after rainfall. There’s a light maltiness, layered with hints of white chocolate and sea spray.
Palate: Vibrant and grain forward. Creamy vanilla, lemon tart, and sweet cereal, with bursts of green apple and clove. The mouthfeel is bold and textural, like biting into something both raw and refined.
Finish: Bright and dynamic. Fades on toasted barley, citrus zest, and a kiss of spice, with a dry minerality that lingers.

Production Details
Made entirely from barley grown by Robert Milne at Ballymorgan Farm, this whisky is distilled in Waterford’s state-of-the-art facility. It’s matured in a mix of French and American oak and bottled at 50% ABV, non chill filtered and natural color. Waterford’s terroir-driven philosophy mirrors that of the great wine estates: every farm, every harvest, every cask tells a story.

Perfect For
The curious. The purists. Those who like their whisky with a bit of rebellion. This is a bottle for tasting, not just drinking, best enjoyed when you’ve got time to explore and the mindset to question everything you thought you knew about Irish whisky.

Expert Notes
Waterford’s radical transparency, down to the GPS coordinates of each farm, has made it a darling among critics and whisky geeks. Ballymorgan 1.2, in particular, was praised for its layered complexity and raw authenticity. It’s a bottle that sparked debates and built a fanbase.

Customer Reviews

“Tasted like no Irish whisky I’ve had before, earthy, electric, honest.”   Geoff M.
“If you're into wine style storytelling in whisky, this is your jam.”   Elise R.
“Fascinated me. Had to go back for a second pour just to keep up.”  Toby K.

Interesting Fact
Waterford uses a system called Teireoir Code, each bottle comes with a scannable code that reveals every detail: soil type, distillation data, barrel breakdown, harvest dates, and more. It’s the most traceable whisky in the world.

Serving Suggestions
Neat and slightly rested, this one opens up with air. If you're feeling adventurous, try it alongside raw oysters or a sharp goat cheese to highlight its brightness and minerality.

Distillery Background
Founded by Mark Reynier (of Bruichladdich fame), Waterford Distillery is built in a former Guinness brewery in southeast Ireland. With a winemaker’s obsession for provenance, they’ve disrupted the Irish whisky scene by proving that where your barley is grown matters just as much as how it’s made. Their whiskies are precision-crafted statements of origin.
