Description:

It is created by Bottega, a third-generation family-owned business that has been making high-end, authentically Italian wines, grappa, spirits, and food items since 1977 in Bibano, Treviso, north of Venice. Barbara, Sandro, and Stefano Bottega are the company's leaders. The headquarters are housed in a farmhouse from the 19th century that was restored while maintaining its original architectural and natural features. It is bordered by 10 hectares of vineyards.

Sandro Bottega came up with the idea for Bottega Gold's glossy, recognizable metalized bottle in 2000 to come up with an eye-catching container for their top-quality Prosecco. Bottega Gold is an Italian Prosecco of the highest quality. But this Prosecco isn't simply a pretty bottle.

The native Glera grapes used to make Prosecco are farmed (in a mix of ancient and new vines) and hand-picked in Valdobbiadene, which is located in the center of the DOCG area, even though this bottle is labeled as DOC. Italian law prevents Bottega's gold-plated bottle from bearing the DOCG moniker, so it is marked as DOC instead.

This Prosecco goes through one fermentation, turning the grape must directly into sparkling wine, and then a second fermentation in autoclaves (pressurized tanks) for about 40 days with the inclusion of chosen yeasts. The Charmat-Martinotti method is a special technique that helps maintain freshness and all of the qualities that the Glera varietal is known for, such whiteness.
