Formerly known as Singleton of Auchroisk, Singleton of Dufftown was relaunched to bring to the people its approachable mellow flavor which is perfect for aspiring connoisseurs who haven’t yet been able to adapt to malts. This perfect introduction is a package of scents and flavors which unfold gradually and surprise the tasters at every sip.
To the nose, it is incredibly appealing with its smooth scents of polished wood and nuts in the beginning which later transform to tones of apples, dates, and brown sugar. The aroma resembles that of a liquorice stick. To the tongue, Singleton comes across as sweet, with crunchy nuts and smooth fruity richness balanced by the sweetness of blackcurrant fruit, brown sugar, and espresso coffee. All the nuanced flavors and aromas give a medium to a long finish with lingering delayed warmth which is drying and crisp.
Dufftown in the year 2014 alone, won a Gold in the Speyside Single Malts (up to 12 years) category at The Scotch Whisky as well as a Silver Outstanding in Scotch Single Malt (Speyside) at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. Along with these two, it also won a Silver in Distilleries Single Malt under 12 years at the International Spirits Challenge in the same year.
Singleton Dufftown is most popularly drunk in a highball, but of course, you do you! As long as you are giving this magnificent 12 Year Old a chance which we know you won’t regret!
