The Santa Fe Spirits 5 Year Old Batch 1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company captures the rugged beauty of the American Southwest, a whisky born under desert skies and aged in high-altitude air. Distilled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this spirit embodies the frontier spirit of American craft whisky: bold, experimental, and deeply rooted in place. The first sip feels like a road trip through red rock canyons, warm winds, oak smoke, and a whisper of adventure carried on the horizon.

Santa Fe Spirits 5 Year Old Batch 1 50cl
Brand: That Boutique-y Whisky Company | Category: American Single Malt Whisky | ABV: 47% | Origin: Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA | Vol: 500ml

Tasting Profile:
Nose:
A burst of toffee, roasted malt, and campfire smoke, followed by hints of dried apricot, pine resin, and baking spice. It’s earthy and sun-warmed, like opening a wooden chest in a desert cabin.
Palate:
Full-bodied and rustic, with rich notes of caramelized sugar, cocoa nibs, and charred oak. Layers of dried fruit and spice develop mid-palate, while the malt sweetness holds everything together.
Finish:
Long, dry, and smoky with lingering notes of oak spice, tobacco leaf, and dark chocolate, a confident farewell that lingers like the desert heat.

Production Details:
Crafted by Santa Fe Spirits, one of America’s pioneering craft distilleries, this whisky is made from 100% malted barley distilled in copper pot stills. Matured for five years in American oak barrels at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the whisky’s high-altitude aging imparts a distinctive intensity, hot days, cool nights, and dry air accelerating interaction with the cask. Bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company in small batches, it’s non-chill filtered and naturally colored.

Perfect For:
Perfect for nights when you want something off the beaten path, a whisky that tells a story of open skies and independence. Best enjoyed with good music and open conversation, it’s the dram for explorers, thinkers, and rule-breakers.

Expert Notes:
Whisky connoisseurs admire this release for its distinctive “New World” character, robust, smoky, and rich with malt complexity. It’s American craft whisky with a Scotch maker’s sensibility, earning praise for its authenticity and adventurous profile.

Customer Reviews:
“Totally unique. It’s like Scotch and bourbon had a desert-born child.”
“Rich, smoky, and unexpectedly smooth, this bottle made me a believer in American single malts.”
“You can taste the altitude in it, big flavor, dry air, and sunshine in every sip.”

Interesting Fact:
Santa Fe Spirits is one of the few distilleries in the U.S. specializing in American single malt, long before the category gained global recognition. Their whisky matures at over 7,000 feet above sea level, one of the highest elevations for whisky aging in the world.

Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy neat or with a drop of water to reveal layers of spice and fruit beneath the smoke. Try pairing it with smoked meats or dark chocolate, flavors that mirror its rugged charm.

Distillery Background:
Founded in 2010 by Colin Keegan, Santa Fe Spirits began as a small operation fueled by a love of local ingredients and traditional craftsmanship. From their distillery overlooking the New Mexican desert, they’ve carved out a reputation for creating world-class spirits that capture the spirit of the American Southwest. In Boutique-y’s hands, this 5-year-old release becomes a snapshot of that wild, sun-baked artistry, a testament to the new frontier of whisky.
