Description:

Penderyn Legend is a Welsh single malt whisky initially seasoned in bourbon barrels and then finished in ex-Madeira casks before it's bottled, informing an interesting dash of energetic sweetness. It has been packaged at 41% ABV, somewhat lower than the Welsh distillers' other Madeira-cask-finished single malt.

The aroma of Penderyn Legend is very light, in the Penderyn style, but with quiet, complexity, and beguiling. It has some hidden aromas of under-ripe pears, warm apple sauce, and pithy orange. Moreover, it has well-toasted bread accompanied with honey. 

There's an aroma of wood smoke and a faint dash of saline, but that peated cask overpower is comparatively subtle. Finally, it has a quiet oak dash along with vanilla bean, sanded boards, a little cinnamon stick, and essence of clove.

The peated casks are more popular, boldly and quickly here. The Taste of the whiskey has unique elements of tart apples, amber-orange blossom honey, and orange marmalade approaching more distinct peat and seaside smoke notes. 

The peat is slightly vegetal, and smoke was blazing the bonfire down the beach. The oak is pleasantly grippy with clove, smoky vanilla bean, and finely ground pepper.

The Finish of the whiskey is dry-ish and Longish, overpowered by the gentle peat smoke and oak with a dash of that citrus sweetness diminishing into a peppery ending. It is a very amazing, very fascinating whisky. Moreover, it has earned much facilitation, such as Gold in Liquid Gold Awards 2018 and many more.
