This cask strength 12-year matured Scotch Whisky is a product of the Macallan distillery and has been matured in ex-Sherry barrels to create a full-bodied, interesting flavor. Imparting the flavor of a combination of American and European sherry-soaked oak, this is a Scotch whisky with a wonderfully complex flavor. 

The aroma opens to Honey Nut Cheerios after the initial apricot bomb pours out; Palate follows the same lines with minor deviations; Finish quickly turns to dried apricots and lingers just long enough. It’s light and a tad watery in its delivery. This Scotch whisky has flavor tones of thick-cut marmalade, cinnamon pastry, and a sweet creaminess.

Macallan 12 Years Double Cask is a perfect canvas to build drinks on and have fun. It’s the kind of whisky that’s easy to forget is on your shelf but even easier to come back to when you see it. Light in color, this scotch also has a certain floral quality, rounded off with a citrus finish. Savor on its own over ice, perhaps with a small splash of water to bring out its smooth flavor.
