The 60 eaux-de-vies undergo a rigorous, time-honored maturation process in barrels that were painstakingly crafted from French wood, giving each one the chance to express itself fully.

Made only from Ugni Blanc grapes, it is an exquisite mix of premium eaux-de-vie and the skill of Hennessy master blenders. With exquisite scents, a perfect balance, and a protracted finish, the VSOP is representative of its class.

On the aroma, subtle tastes like vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon are plainly discernible. French oak barrel aging results in a secondary aroma known as a roasted aroma. When drinking this traditional Cognac, power, and smoothness combine in a masterfully crafted flavor combination. This is then followed by a strong aftertaste and a gentler note of freshly squeezed grapes.

The Prince of Wales, King George IV of Great Britain, was the first to adopt the term "Very Special Old Pale" (VSOP), which has since come to serve as a benchmark in age categories for all Cognac producers. In 1817, he personally requested a "Very Special Old Pale" from Hennessy. The original, greatest, and most well-known VSOP cognac in the world is this one.
