Plantation Peru Grand Terroir 2006 70cl
Brand: Plantation Rum | Category: Vintage Peruvian Rum | ABV: 47.9% | Origin: Peru | Vol: 700ml

Intro/Heritage:
Elegant, rare, and wildly expressive, Plantation Peru 2006 is a Grand Terroir release that brings the hidden magic of Andean rum to light. Distilled in the heart of Peru and aged at altitude before receiving its final refinement in Ferrand Cognac casks, this bottling is a study in complexity, culture, and cask influence. For the collector with curiosity and the palate to match.

Tasting Profile:
Nose: Deep and aromatic. Notes of dried figs, toasted almonds, and caramelized banana meet cinnamon, leather, and dark cocoa, like stepping into a spice market at dusk.
Palate: Full-bodied and velvety. Layers of toffee, espresso, raisin, and clove unfold over molasses and delicate oak. Bold, structured, and rich in character, yet balanced with finesse.
Finish: Long and warming. Spiced dark chocolate, dried fruit, and a wisp of tobacco linger with elegant restraint.

Production Details:
Distilled in 2006 from molasses using both column and pot stills at DestilerĂas Unidas del PerĂș. Aged for 11 years in Peru in American oak barrels, then matured an additional 3 years in Ferrand Cognac casks in France. Bottled at a robust 47.9% ABV, non-chill filtered and bursting with complexity.

Perfect For:
Seasoned rum connoisseurs, whisky lovers exploring aged cane spirits, or anyone seeking an exotic, contemplative sipping experience. Perfect for late-night pours and slow appreciation.

Expert Notes:
Praised for its depth, balance, and bold elegance, Plantation Peru 2006 offers a glimpse into the lesser-known world of Peruvian rum, elevated by Plantation’s expert cask management. A standout in the Grand Terroir lineup, with complexity that rivals aged Scotch or Cognac.

Customer Reviews:
đŸ—Łïž "Aged to perfection. Dark, spicy, and endlessly complex."
đŸ—Łïž "This one surprised me — Peru now sits firmly on my rum map."
đŸ—Łïž "Warm, rich, and captivating. A dram to sip slowly and revisit often."

Interesting Fact:
Peru’s high-altitude maturation brings cooler, more stable aging conditions, allowing for subtle, graceful development, a stark contrast to the tropical intensity of Caribbean climates. That cool control makes Plantation Peru 2006 a beautifully refined outlier.

Serving Suggestions:
Best enjoyed neat in a wide crystal glass to allow its layered aromatics to bloom. For a luxurious pairing, try it with dark chocolate truffles, espresso-soaked sponge cake, or a fine Maduro cigar.

Brand Background:
Plantation Rum, the brainchild of Maison Ferrand, is famed for its commitment to terroir, authenticity, and double aging. Each Grand Terroir expression showcases a single origin, distilled and aged at source, then polished in French oak casks. With Peru 2006, Plantation invites you to experience Andean rum at its peak, cultured, complex, and undeniably rare.
